If you can, always choose to have the bigger tank instead of the smaller one because firstly you allow your fishes to have more room to roam around, not to mention that with a bigger tank, the temperature will be harder to alter therefore making it easier for you to regulate. Should you want more fishes in the tank later on will also be easier if you have a bigger aquarium as compared to a smaller one.
Another thing to consider in your tank is the various accessories and placement of various objects within the tank. Be sure to include a few places for your fish to hide, because that way they’re more likely to be less stressed, this is especially important if the tank receive direct sunlight, which is often quite bad for the fish.

One mistake that many new owner commit is that they tend to place a lot of different kind of breed within the same aquarium all at once. This is not good for any of your pet fish as they need time to to suit themselves in a new environment, by adding a lot of other fishes you stress them out and this can sometimes lead to their death. Not only you should feed them with flakes, be sure to add additional nutritional food inside to make sure that they’re healthy and strong. You should also avoid overfeeding as the waste can easily clog the air filter system, if you see any flakes at the bottom of the tank, then you are overfeeding them.
Lastly, be sure to keep the water in the tank clean, the best practice is to drain and change the water in your tank at least twice a month, this way not only your fishy friends will be happy, you too can enjoy the beautiful view of your aquarium!
